Title: TADs- “A Biomechanical Aid in Different Clinical Situations”
Abstract:
Development of the simple, stable, and easy to use orthodontic mini-implant represents a critical turning point in the search for effort-less control of orthodontic anchorage.
Temporary anchorage devices (TADs) are a relatively new addition in the armamentarium of an Orthodontist and they are now being routinely used by them around the world for providing absolute anchorage. However, many Orthodontists are aloof to the versatility of TADs, which can be used in a myriad of clinical situations to aid an Orthodontist in achieving complex tooth movements with ease.
This lecture aims to broaden the vision of Orthodontists and budding Orthodontists to the infinite possibilities of using TADs in different clinical situations.
Learning Objectives:
- To make the clinician aware of the basic description of Implants
- To emphasise on indications and in which situations the implants should be used
- To Brief the clinician regarding the procedure of placement of Implants
- Explain the basic biomechanics and the mode of action of Implants.

Bio:
Professor Dr. Sudhir Kapoor completed his B.D.S in 1981 and M.D.S from King Georges Medical College, Lucknow in 1984.
He is currently Director, Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Sardar Patel Post Graduate Institute of Dental and Medical Sciences, Lucknow and Director, Continuing Dental Education Programme of the Institution.
He is a Member, Dental Council of India and Ex-President, UP State Dental Council, Fellow of International College of Dentists (USA), Ex-Member of W.F.O & A.A.O. Thrice he has been an Executive Committee member of Indian Orthodontic Society. He is an active member of IDA, Lucknow and UP State Branch
