Abstract:
Caries prevention has evolved with time. Though Fluorides and sealants have remained the gold standard for long-period of time, many new materials, are revolutionizing this field these days. Introduction of SDF (Silver Diamine Fluoride) has added new dimension to caries prevention/management. Effective use of technology is taking the filed of Caries prevention beyond conventional methods. Smart connected devises, Chair-side caries-risk assessment, materials that aid in performing Minimally invasive procedures, etc. are creating new waves in the field of Caries prevention and is truly taking this field beyond fluorides and Sealants.

Bio:
Dr. Ariga is currently working as the Director of School Oral Health Program (SOHP), Kuwait since September 2005. He is also the Adjunct faculty (honorary position) at The Forsyth Research Institute, Cambridge, USA since 2008.
Dr. Ariga completed his MDS (Community Dentistry/Dental Public Health) from SDM College of Dental Sciences, Dharwad during 1999-2001 and worked as Assistant Professor/Reader in the department till April 2005.
He oversees the planning and implementations of SOHP along with his Team.
