Dr. Treister is an oral medicine specialist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and Clinical Director of Oral Medicine and Oral Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) in Boston, Massachusetts, and Associate Professor of Oral Medicine at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He is board certified in Oral Medicine and practices at BWH, DFCI, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, with special interest in oral mucosal diseases, salivary gland diseases, orofacial pain disorders, and oral complications in cancer patients.

Bio:

Marco Meleti is Professor of Oral Surgery at the University of Parma, Italy, where he also serves as Clinical Director of the University Dental Center and Director of the Master Program in Orofacial Aesthetic Medicine.

He received his dental degree from the University of Parma and earned his PhD in Oral Sciences at Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam, conducting his doctoral research within the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Pathology at VUmc and the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA). He subsequently completed advanced clinical training in Oral Medicine at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), USA.

An oral surgeon with a special interest in Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine, his clinical and research activities focus on diagnosis and surgical treatment of diseases of the oral mucosa and jawbones, oral potentially malignant disorders, oral cancer, salivary diagnostics, and innovative technologies in oral surgery, including laser applications. He has authored 200 Scopus-indexed peer-reviewed publications. He is actively engaged in international research collaborations.

Prof. Meleti is Immediate Past-President of the European Association of Oral Medicine (EAOM), after serving as President from 2023 to 2025. He is a frequently invited speaker at international conferences and serves on the editorial boards of several leading journals in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology. He also serves on the Board of the Italian Society of Oral Surgery (SIDCO) and as Vice President of the Italian Society of Laser Dentistry (SILO).

Dr. Alan Roger is a Dental Surgeon who graduated from São Paulo State University, Brazil, where he was honored with the “Professor Enyr Geraldo Arcieri” academic award for exceptional performance during his undergraduate studies. He subsequently pursued a master’s degree in the Graduate Program in Oral Medicine at the Piracicaba Dental School, State University of Campinas (FOP-UNICAMP), Brazil, in collaboration with the Department of Oral Medicine at the A.C. Camargo Cancer Center. His academic journey continued with a PhD, which included a research internship with the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the University of Sheffield, UK, as part of the “Sandwich PhD Program Abroad” (CAPES/Brazilian Ministry of Education). He is a certified specialist in Oral Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, and Hospital Dentistry, with an additional qualification in Laser Therapy (Photobiomodulation) recognized by the Brazilian Federal Council of Dentistry. Professionally, he worked as a Dental Surgeon in the Oral Oncology Service at the São Paulo State Cancer Institute (University of São Paulo Medical School) before joining as a faculty member of the Department of Oral Diagnosis at FOP-UNICAMP in 2011. Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor, teaching both theoretical and clinical courses in the undergraduate Dentistry program and postgraduate Master’s and Doctoral programs in Oral Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Dental Materials. Additionally, he coordinates postgraduate specialization courses in Oral Medicine and Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, along with a distance-learning extension course on contemporary concepts in oral cancer. In academic administration, He have held several roles, including serving as an elected member of the FOP UNICAMP Council, Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Oral Pathology (CAPES 7, 2012-2016), member of the UNICAMP University Council, and member of the Superior Council of the University Hospital at UNICAMP. He also contributes as an ad hoc reviewer for prominent state and national funding agencies such as FAPESP, CAPES, CNPq, and FAEPEX/UNICAMP. His research focuses on studies addressing oral potentially 1 malignant disorders and oral and oropharyngeal cancer in Brazil and Latin America.

Prof. Omar Kujan is an academic and researcher at the University of Western Australia (UWA), specializing in oral pathology and dental research. His work focuses on early detection of oral diseases, including oral cancer, and the application of advanced diagnostic techniques to improve patient outcomes.

He is actively involved in teaching and mentoring students, contributing to the development of future dental professionals. In addition to his academic role, Dr. Kujan has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and collaborated on international research initiatives aimed at advancing oral health and clinical practice.

Dr. Arwa M. Farag is an internationally recognized expert in oral medicine and orofacial pain with over 20 years of academic, clinical, and research experience. She holds a Doctor of Medical Sciences (DMSc) and a certificate in Oral Medicine from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Farag is a Diplomate of the American Boards of Oral Medicine and Orofacial Pain and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh).

Associate Professor & Consultant of Oral Medicine, Orofacial Pain, Dental Sleep Medicine at the Department of Oral Diagnostic Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry, King AbdulAziz University, Jeddah Saudi Arabia. She is also a visiting faculty at the Department of Diagnostic Sciences, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Boston,MA,USA. Dr. Farag has delivered more than 50 national and international scientific presentations and has over 40 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Farag clinical interest focuses on management of oral manifestation of systemic diseases, oral complication of cancer therapy, and treatment of chronic orofacial pain conditions. Dr. Farag is currently serving as a treasurer for the AAOM, a regional representative of the EAOM and a steering member of the World Workshop on Oral Medicine.
