Abstract:
A beautiful smile has a significant impact on one’s perception of facial aesthetics; along with smile designing, it does change the overall facial appearance. The lecture is specifically designed for dental professionals to start their journey as a Digital Smile Designer, become an aesthetic diagnostician, and achieve excellence in a minimally invasive approach to perform dental laminates and veneers. We will discuss how to construct an accurate aesthetic treatment plan using a contemporary approach and comprehend indications, contraindications, advantages, and disadvantages of porcelain and composite veneers. This lecture will uncover how to initiate a digital smile design treatment plan with the principles and rules of facially-driven smile designing, facial flow concept, and the insight of smile and face harmony. Acquire precision in terms of teeth preparation for dental laminates and veneers to achieve predictable results. Also, learn to create a 2D/3D digital smile design on a patient’s photo and intra-oral/extra-oral scan to visualize the aesthetic treatment’s outcome to patients using digital smile simulation. Bio:

Dr. Amey G Patil completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, India. He has successfully completed his Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) degree in September 2016 from the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, Newark, USA. He served as the Chief Resident of the Center for Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorders, Department of Diagnostic Sciences. He completed a Fellowship in Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dentistry (FACD) from New York University College of Dentistry, New York City, USA. He served the Department of Oral Biology, Diagnostic Sciences, and Restorative Dentistry as a Research Teaching Specialist and currently working as an RBHS Instructor – Faculty in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Diagnostic Sciences, Center for Orofacial Pain and TMJ Disorders at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, Newark, New Jersey (USA).
